Charger seem to have one goal; to finish a song as quickly as possible and blast through into the next one.
USA Nails – Life Cinema
On Life Cinema, USA Nails continue to hack, carve and flesh out this ghastly totem of their acerbic and unique sound.
Horseflies – Lucidity
Portsmouth’s Horseflies are made up from current and ex-members Deluxe Flamingos and Attack! Vipers! and have been kicking around since 2016, treating us to their noisy, discordant racket.
USA/Mexico – Matamoros
The press release for USA/Mexico’s second album, Matamoros, features the words “once you’re comfortably settled in…” which I have to say is an odd turn of phrase, considering this is a turbulent and disturbing slab of vomit-inducing horror.
Sugar Horse – Druj
Describing themselves as a “decidedly average band” and everyone being the bassist from Iron Maiden, it’s fair to say obnoxious Birthday-ruiners, Sugar Horse are a great bunch of lads.
Sofy Major – Total Dump
It’s great when a band doesn’t take themselves seriously. France’s Sofy Major don’t really fit into the noise rock template – they’re more likely to flush it down the toilet than conform, which is refreshingly brilliant.
Voodoo Person – RIP Keith Flint
It feels odd reporting this, as we don’t really do news stuff, but after discussion with my fellow Keep It Fast-er, we thought it would be only right to pay tribute to Keith Flint of The Prodigy, who sadly passed over the weekend.
Ils – Pain Don’t Hurt
Ils (pronounced “ilz”) are a four piece from Portland, signed to French label Pogo Records and Pain Don’t Hurt is their first EP and it’s an ugly and disturbing racket.
Pretty Cruel – Hometown Misery EP
Brisbane bruisers, Pretty Cruel (so nearly wrote vacant) cite Fugazi and Norma Jean as influences, with nods to punk rock heroes The Bronx in their sound, which is fairly apparent on this brief but bludgeoning EP
