Happy Accidents – Everything But The Here and Now

The joyful and raucous noise of Happy Accidents is the kind of adrenaline shot we all need at the moment in these testing times. Hailing from the big smoke, this London trio comprised of Rich (guitar & vocals), Neil (bass) and Phoebe (drums & vocals) have crafted an album that will pique the interest of those involved in the dizzying fracture of the DIY punk rock scene.

Tigercub – Evolve Or Die

Apparently, Evolve or Die, the new EP from Brighton’s Tigercub, was influenced by a short story from Argentinian author George Louis Borge, called The Library of Babel. This tale is about a universe that consists of a library full of a series of hexagonal rooms containing the bare necessities for human survival.

Brawlers – Romantic Errors Of Our Youth

An autobiographical streak runs through Brawlers’ sound – from the brisk story-telling of Annabel to the girl-chasing bounce of Two Minutes and the drunken bar room chant of the album’s title track, hearts are very much being held up to your face, with the bloody viscera dripping all down your front.

Brawlers – I Am A Worthless Piece Of Shit

It’s scary how some things enter your consciousness so quickly. After only 2 playthroughs, the superbly titled I Am A Worthless Piece Of Shit has set up a permanent shop inside my head and is proving difficult to budge. Not that you’d want to, because this is fucking brilliant; from the jerking pop-rock of Mothers and Fathers to the anthemic rant-a-thon of the EP title track, this is an absolute blast from start to finish.

Her Parents – Happy Birthday

Creating something that sounds more bonkers than their debut Physical Release was going to take some doing, but Her Parents seem to have achieved the impossible with Happy Birthday, an album that is a brief, scything affair (12 tracks in 18 minutes) but proves to be absolutely punishing and suitably deranged, caustic and jolly good fun.
