Pretty Cruel – Hometown Misery EP

Brisbane bruisers, Pretty Cruel (so nearly wrote vacant) cite Fugazi and Norma Jean as influences,  with nods to punk rock heroes The Bronx in their sound, which is fairly apparent on this brief but bludgeoning EP

Track by track: HEADS. – Collider

We love a bit of HEADS. at Keep It Fast, their angled, jagged, noisy concentrated sound is a raucous delight.  To celebrate, here’s a track by track breakdown of Collider, their second album.

The Chats – Get This In Ya!!

At the risk of letting this pass without acknowledging it, I feel the internet and everyone involved needs to know more about the sheer brilliance of Australia’s, The Chats.

HEADS. DOING. A. UK. TOUR.

Purveyors of uncomfortable, scraping noise-rock that could melt through walls; Germany-meets-Australia’s HEADS. are to return to the UK later on this month for a few shows, which is nice. Catch them at these venues creeping you out with their crunchy, face-clawing riffs.

HEADS. – S/T

It’s no surprise to learn that HEADS. will be going on tour with METZ in June and any other bands who like writing their name in capitals only. HEADS. are 1 Australian and 2 Germans making stripped-to-the-bare-bones noise rock that in places, gives a nod to that 90s grunge sound, alongside a gnawing, low-end scrape of disgruntled darkness.

Bare Bones – Cut Throat Living

I’d put money on Bare Bones enjoying the occasional drink or 17. Hailing from Sydney, this is a five-piece ultimate party train, hammering at your door, brandishing several kegs of beer, wondering why the fuck has someone not put Motley Crue on the stereo yet. What hits you about Cut Throat Living is how abrasive and breathless these six songs are.
