The press release for USA/Mexico’s second album, Matamoros, features the words “once you’re comfortably settled in…” which I have to say is an odd turn of phrase, considering this is a turbulent and disturbing slab of vomit-inducing horror.
Just take a moment and let that name sink in. It’s good, isn’t it? I mean, LOOK at it. It’s majestic. Powerful. CRUSHING. Sublimely brilliant in every way. Mammoth Weed Wizard Bastard are a four piece from Wrexham who may or may not be druids. I’m reliably informed that their album title, Noeth Ac Anoeth is a old Welsh phrase, which means ‘an abode of existence’ or ‘Hades crossed with nothingness’
HUGE NEWS. Down I Go are back. Well, they’re going to record an album at least, which is excellent. For those unfamiliar, Down I Go made/make concept albums (dinosaurs, disasters, robots, tyrants and gods) and are generally brilliant. They split up a few years back due to band members all living in different countries.
