The press release for USA/Mexico’s second album, Matamoros, features the words “once you’re comfortably settled in…” which I have to say is an odd turn of phrase, considering this is a turbulent and disturbing slab of vomit-inducing horror.
Irk – Recipes From The Bible
Deliciously uncomfortable seems to be Irk’s mantra and they manage this over the course of the 9 track slab of warped, snarling wreckage that is Recipes From The Bible.
UXO – UXO
UXO is a project formed by Steve Austin of metal/noise/haters of everything, Today is the Day and Chris Spencer of Wreck-merchants, Unsane with the help of bassist Aarne Victorine and drummer Patrick Kennedy (who jammed with Austin in the band Taipan). UXO isn’t a comfortable listen by any means – it twitches and snaps like a hair-trigger temper on an unpredictable mob Capo.
