The Austerity Program continue their trend of uneasy listening with this caustic and bone-crushingly heavy barrage of uncomfortable and scorched noise rock.
UpCDownC – Black Dracula video
This terror train of film-noir-horror-post-metal debauchery, known as UpCDownC released a video last year for their track, Black Dracula, as featured on the gloom-laden terror of last year’s I, Awake and their self-titled EP from 2015.
UpCDownC – I, Awake
Split into 6 parts, I, Awake, the new album from instrumental-post-whatever-noise dirtbags UpCDownC, is essentially not being able to sleep at night; it’s sticking your feet out the end of the bed and wondering if a clawed hand is about to grab hold. Sweet dreams.
No Spill Blood – Heavy Electricity
If heavy electricity falls from these headphones, not only would it blow my head off, it would cut me completely in half. The horror film hasn’t been made that Heavy Electricity could soundtrack, but it’s only a matter of time, as this, their first full-length, is truly the stuff of nightmares.
Disasterpeace – It Follows (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack)
This album should come with a disclaimer. “Warning, do not, repeat, DO NOT listen to this if you are trying to drift off to sleep – may cause utter terror/crazy dreams.” Not that I’ve experienced such a thing, oh no. Well, maybe a bit.
Yards – EP2
Searching the punk section on bandcamp produces some excellent results. Yards are just one of many that I’ve decided to single out to scribble some words about. Yards are a four piece from London/Brighton who specialise in gnarled, snapping rage fed through a filter of discord.
