UpCDownC – Black Dracula video

This terror train of film-noir-horror-post-metal debauchery, known as UpCDownC released a video last year for their track, Black Dracula, as featured on the gloom-laden terror of last year’s I, Awake and their self-titled EP from 2015.

American Nightmare – S/T

American Nightmare have created a document that is 9 tales of brutally honest, impassioned, chaotic, diverse and heart-wrenching rock, sealed with a heart to the world of hardcore. Open it and absorb its twisted poetry and noise.

The Turin Horse – S/T

Who the fuck are The Turin Horse you ask? Two dudes from Italy called s Enrico Tauraso (vox, guitar, samples) and Alain Lapaglia (drums) both of whom were in separate bands (Dead Elephant and Morkobot) but decided to sack that off, teamed up, moved to Turin and created this noise-pollution of a duo.

Tiny Moving Parts – Swell

Tiny Moving Parts couldn’t have picked a better title for this collection of songs really. These 10 tracks on Swell are fit to burst with impassioned beauty, melancholy, tales of loss and re-connection; from their erratic time changes to the heady blasts of breakneck punk rock and contemplative, brooding lyrical couplets.

Happy Accidents – Everything But The Here and Now

The joyful and raucous noise of Happy Accidents is the kind of adrenaline shot we all need at the moment in these testing times. Hailing from the big smoke, this London trio comprised of Rich (guitar & vocals), Neil (bass) and Phoebe (drums & vocals) have crafted an album that will pique the interest of those involved in the dizzying fracture of the DIY punk rock scene.

Lizard Hips – Top 10 albums of 2017

My top 2 will not surprise some people and it’s mostly business as usual. Some returning bands and truly outstanding work all round from nearly everyone that’s released an album this year that I’ve enjoyed. Even albums that didn’t make the top ten (sorry Pissed Jeans, you’re in at 11…) were stonking great. Enjoy.

Dodge Meteor – Real Soon Now

Where some artists create with paint, feelings or whatever, Dodge Meteor create with riffs and by create I mean splatter everywhere in a turbo-blast of raw, bleeding power. Guitars howl and morph into each other through a colourful spectrum of bending chaos, whilst the crunching percussion hammers a thick, marching beat of dread.

Catalan! – Alive

You may remember back in the sunny days of July, we had a feature and interview with a certain Mr Ewen Friers, aka Catalan! talking all about the creation of the project, hopes for the future, collaborations and whether he’s a Dr Ian Malcolm or David Levinson kind of guy.

JOHN – God Speed In The National Limit

Being able to find stuff is overrated anyway. JOHN (comprised of John on drums and vocals and John on guitar) are, I’m guessing, more deadpan than a churchyard full of deceased cooking pots. They know the joke and are sticking with it and why should they crack a face to please you?

METZ – Strange Peace

METZ hit the ground running, or rather, absolutely demolish all barriers with the teeth-rattling barrage that is Mess Of Wires. This is more a freight train continuously building in speed and chattering noise, as the drumming of Hayden Menzies is an almost direct parallel to the sound of clattering wheel rails, chewing to pieces everything in its path.
