Brilliantly self-described as “Drunk Wikipedia Farming” (aka, the kings of concept-core) the Stockholm/Illinois/Toronto trio that is Down I Go still exist as a band. Despite them all living in different countries, the simple matter of distance, time and space isn’t going to stop them from creating music.

The Display Team are a sextet of macabre carnival characters, driven by wild, hectic, frenzied energy and are a fiery and exhilarating rush from start to finish. Shifts is their second record (it’s been 7 years since their first, Drones) and proof that the band isn’t dead.
Sonisphere 2014 – Saturday 5 July
We’re late leaving the campsite and only briefly get a glimpse of Alestorm bringing pirate metal kicking and screaming – some dude is playing the keytar and it doesn’t sound too horrible. We’re only up early though to see one band: Babymetal. Judging by the crowd of people swarming to the Apollo stage, we aren’t the only ones.
