UpCDownC – Black Dracula video

This terror train of film-noir-horror-post-metal debauchery, known as UpCDownC released a video last year for their track, Black Dracula, as featured on the gloom-laden terror of last year’s I, Awake and their self-titled EP from 2015.

Christian Fitness – This Taco Is Not Correct

Those familiar with Falco’s Christian Fitness project (one-man band) will notice the amount of ‘beef’ that’s been siphoned into This Taco Is Not Correct – (and I mean beef in the sense of SOUND and not the meat product, although we are talking tacos here so…maybe it’s both?)

Palehorse – Looking Wet In Public

Palehorse are fuckin’ dead. Although nowadays, splitting up is akin to going on a long trip somewhere, only to return 18 years later with a beard and a new hairstyle, still rocking the same moves (hi Refused!) But what of Palehorse? 16 years doing this shit, few line up changes, several albums down the line, sometimes it’s just the time to bow out and let someone else take the reigns.

Ampwrecked: New Tracks For Your Ears #6

Welcome to Ampwrecked. In this issue, John and Big Business prove that duos make the loudest noises, Brand New continue to be cryptic, USA Nails are the funniest band on the planet, MSTRKRFT make harrowing chaos, METZ team up with the Swami and Zack Lopez brings the riffs in a huge truckload.

Art of Burning Water / Harrowed – Split

Art of Burning Water and Harrowed serve up a treat in the form of their brand of blackened-metal grind and sludge-hardcore noise. Another solid release from Super Fi Records, who seem to constantly churn out the very best in underground metallic-noise chaos.

Mammoth Weed Wizard Bastard – Noeth Ac Anoeth

Just take a moment and let that name sink in. It’s good, isn’t it? I mean, LOOK at it. It’s majestic. Powerful. CRUSHING. Sublimely brilliant in every way. Mammoth Weed Wizard Bastard are a four piece from Wrexham who may or may not be druids. I’m reliably informed that their album title, Noeth Ac Anoeth is a old Welsh phrase, which means ‘an abode of existence’ or ‘Hades crossed with nothingness’

UpCDownC – UpCDownC

This is a very dark path indeed. I suppose that the week of summer we had back in July is all we’re going to get as we descend into the realms of autumn. What better way then to soundtrack that by listening to something that will not only make you constantly look over your shoulder in fear and head-bang like a bastard. UpCDownC are that band.

Tilts – Cuatro Hombres

Tilts (big pinball fans) have been kicking around for a few years, having funded their first album (Self-Titled) through a Kickstarter campaign; decided to repeat this success with their second effort, Cuatro Hombres (Four Men) achieving well over what they needed – by $2,500 – top work guys! Cuatro Hombres is 10 tracks of bursting, vibrant, raucous, beer-can-smashing rock ‘n roll.

Floor – Oblation

So, you’re waiting for the new Torche album huh? This should quench that thirst. Steve Brooks and Co. return with more riffs, sludge and doom-pop, including a songs about a war party, Don Quioxte’s horse and finding that perfect man. Floor are back – let’s get lower than before.

Hornets – No Faith EP

I thought it was supposed to be getting lighter? Hornets certainly don’t think so; tapping into the realms of darkness and despair on No Faith, an EP that’s littered with bad feelings, ugly, chewed-up riffs and a sense of foreboding doom. Just what you need now that summer is around the corner! Hailing from Belfast, Hornets have been kicking around for a few years…
