Guest Post: Jack Murray’s top 10 albums of 2017

Having listened to every single piece of recorded music this year (even both Gallagher albums and the new one by Nick Knowles) Jack Murray is here to provide us with his top 10 albums containing songs that he likes to listen to with his ears. Got it? Good.

Lizard Hips – Top 10 albums of 2017

My top 2 will not surprise some people and it’s mostly business as usual. Some returning bands and truly outstanding work all round from nearly everyone that’s released an album this year that I’ve enjoyed. Even albums that didn’t make the top ten (sorry Pissed Jeans, you’re in at 11…) were stonking great. Enjoy.

The Bronx – V

If one photo summed up The Bronx, it’s in underlay card on this, their fifth album. It shows vocalist and professional “bear impersonating a man” Matt Caughthran, standing in the middle of a circle pit, microphone in hand, ready to scream some immortal and terrifying word to signal the rest of his band to collapse this ring of people in on itself.

Truckfighters – V

Crushing everything in their path with waves upon waves of punishing fuzz, Sweden’s Truckfighters burst back onto the scene with their fifth album, cunningly titled V. Now onto their 8th drummer, El Danno, (proper Spinal Tap shit going on here) – they’ve suffered some drastic line-up changes since their inception; hopefully now, they can remain stable for a bit!
