Guest post! It’s nearly the end of the year, so we asked Jack Murray gives us a rundown of his top 10 albums of 2016. From Pat Sharpe and the Turbo Hand Shandies, through to Egg Sandwich Overkill and the new album from The Outhere Brothers – he’ll be counting down the hits of this year. House Of Lightning – House of Lightning

At 6 tracks long and 37 minutes running time, House of Lightning absolutely blitz through these songs with unhinged and frenzied delight. It’s a evolving mixture of colliding genres and styles all scrambling for position; from moments of boom-led stoner-rock, to over-driven thrash-punk, squealing alt-rock and sludge, House of Lightning keep the listener on their toes.

Made up of ex-members of Kylesa and sludge-pop titans Torche, Wrong are channelling the sweaty, bleary eyed, disgruntled, yet still party-animal instinct of early Kvelertak, alongside the down-tuned hum of Unsane and that snarl of Helmet.
